Read the section on it at the uplink laboratories research centre.

Sweet, it got updated? Hallelujah! -- Griffinhart EDIT: Erm, the only thing displayed on the page is "TODO", so... can't really glean much information on Gateway systems from that, eh? |

I did. I think. I ran the Updater. And it said I updated. I'll run it again, see what happens... -- Griffinhart EDIT: Okay, according to the Updater, I've downloaded/installed Onlink x86 0.1.2b2. And Onlink's main screen says 0.1.2b2 in the lower right hand corner. |

Peculiar, because that problem was fixed in the SVN repository... I saw the commit myself. |

You need to make a new profile to see the changes to the research centre. everything else is a hotfix besides that, so just make a new user to read up on those. |

Crappit. Now I have another problem. I dunno why, but whenever I try cracking the Gateway system, and I play the necessary voice file, I get the "Acess Granted" button, but when I click on it, I get returned to the "no external log-ins permitted screen". When I re-access the log-in screen, the "Voice Print Identification" button is set back to "Access Denied", even though I've already cracked it. -- Griffinhart EDIT: This happens on other Gateway systems as well. |

Oh, right. I forgot about that. It's fixed, but you need to make a new profile to see that fix. Apoligies. :/ |

Read the section on it at the uplink laboratories research centre.-- Griffinhart Erm... could you be more specific, please. I searched all the 1,2,3,4 entries on the uplink research centre. Research Database -> 1.) Research Abstract = blabla 2.) Computer Systems -> 2.1.) Gateway Systems ; 2.2.) EBS Systems 3.) Security Systems -> 3.1.) VDPIN ; 3.2.) VSEC Nothing so far on how to exactly disable a Gateway. If I want to log on to one, I get "no external log-ins permitted". I get this routing from Central Mainframe, from internal Service Machine, from Acess Terminal, ... Regardless I bypassed on the Gateway all security and forced the PC open. ... AH! Forget it. I just found the way in. Stupid me. For all others still stuck there: 1.) connect to the Gateway 2.) bypass connection security (if you can) 3.) use PC-force interface and run the hacks starting with the top one on the system, working your way downwards. No shortcutts! 4.) conntinue to next page and inject login. Access. 5.) Hack login security (beware VSEC! On solving VSEC you might want to try [REMOVED] ; no guaranty though it will allways work with the there shown solutions!) A little tutorial on how to work with this great web-site: VSEC is a 4x4 sized raster with only 2 light-stats. Lights on or off. To solve it, you need to turn all lights off. I recommend doing that always as if it would be a Version 2, means only allowed clicking lighted buttons. a.) for VSEC emulation on the web-site, set Rows=4, Columns=4, Stats=2, Mode=lights out, the 3rd entry-field from left should show "Plane" b.) now illuminate the buttons by clicking on the fields as it's shown on the system in Onlink that you want to hack. c.) klick on "SET" to the right d.) switch tho 3rd form left entry-field at the top to "Torus" (VSEC has no boundries and works over the edges in all directions) e.) Propably the field doesn't show anything after switching to Torus. Just minimise and maximise the browser window in that case. It should show then. f.) No work on it if you please. Or you can let the programm SOLVE it <- to the right again. g.) Again it propably doesn't show anything. If you have a browser with tab-funktion, you can also switch to an other tab and back insead of minimising and maximising the window. h.) walk through the shown solution to make sure in what order you have to press the buttons to allways stay on the lighted ones. With that path, you should be able to crack the VSEC in Onlink, even the ones that don't have a solution in the wiki yet. Memorize which buttons you have already pressed in VSEC, there is no switching back in v2.0 and you only have a limited amount of clicks before it locks for quite an annoyingly long time. By the way Miah: my locked VSEC hasn't opened up again yet. I spend hours in real time and game time waiting over the whole week now. Still locked. What daemonous tool did you create there? EDIT: finally!!! It opened up again. veni, vidi, vici. Hacked, cracked oben and insinerated! Security was encreased though and I had to kill the Proxy. Took quite long, 5 min or so, although I put all the power to the proxy-killer. Do you always have to take the Gateway to the graveyard in order to get through to the central mainframe? And what is it with those directories "pub" and "rec". Can one access them somehow and do something to them? |
