On a Windows box? Reformat the drive/partition. Dunno why'd you want to. Both are equally not-good.

I don't think you even _can_ install Windows on an exFAT partition. Windows Vista and 7 only like NTFS for the system partition.

Plus there is the issue of heavy fragmentation, and there's no defrag utility (aka "ntfs-without-defrag"?, that ought to be fun).

I particularly like the stability I've experienced with ZFS. Snapshots are very convenient, and the volume management features of it are incredible.

As for fragmentation... Like HFS+, ZFS will only fragment when space gets _really_ low. Comparing fragmentation levels to NTFS is very wrong, especially since NTFS' basic policy is to avoid free space fragmentation at all costs (and thus data gets fragmented), whereas nearly any other modern filesystem avoids data fragmentation at all costs. The latter policy is better, especially with storage sizes increasing as they are.
