These processes run services, like audio and networking and any services a program you have installed has set up. Read more about it on Wikipedia.

svchost stands for service host. Basically a service is a DLL that contains a full program designed to run in the background without a gui. It can also run when no user is logged on. It is run by the system using the svchost exe. If you're running vista you can add another column to see what DLL it is running. XP task manager can't do that. |

ummm... lol I learned c++ in 6th grade but hey I guess I'm special since I know java, c++, c, c#, javascript, boo, python, html, php, blah, blah, blah (many more). not to brag or anything |

Learning languages isn't that difficult - it's the logical underpinnings and concepts inherent to programming/computer science that you need to learn. After that, any language should be (more-or-less) easy and quick to pick up. (Unless you're talking about shit like brainfuck or Malbolge.) -- Griffinhart |
