Can I assume this happens not with a new game, but only after you've exited the game once and reentered it?
I'm not sure of what you mean here, but if I create a new game, immediately get the Uplink Test Machine link from internic, connect to it, enter the code manually, disconnect, and finally reconnect to UTM, it will show the bugged code as seen above. The same happens if I create a new game, get the link from InterNIC, exit the game, restart the game, then follow the same process to get the code. I've also done the same process for InterNIC, and it also produces the same results in both cases.

In all cases, I've skipped the tutorial by selecting "No" when offered.

Once the code has been obtained however, whether I got it directly after creating a new game or after restarting, logging out then back in will make it disappear, and I haven't found any indication of the code being "saved" when I searched the save files in-between restarts.

Also, just in case, I always first make a copy of my .gz save files, then extract that copy and read from it, in order to make sure I don't disturb the game or the save files unnecessarily.

The save file loader (or saver) seems to be generally unhappy. Shortcuts and connections are not being reloaded after quitting, and as mentioned before log lists have mysterious blank entries.

Fixed Mac and Linux builds are up (I'll update the links above after I post this). Won't have Windows builds until tomorrow or Sunday.

You forgot to update the About Uplink menu on the Mac, it still says Onlink 0.2.0-a7.

Miah, does the Info.plist not get updated automatically?

Perhaps you don't have the OpenMP DLLs. Can you try installing the Visual Studio 2005 SP1 x86 or x86_64 runtimes?

I was getting this problem trying to use the 64bit version. Your suggestion finally fixed it. Thanks!

I guess I should just start packaging those DLLs with the Windows version. A few people don't have them, and those that don't aren't aware of what to do about it.

I'm having a problem as well...

On the mac build, as soon as I open onlink it quits.
I don't suppose the Mac build has been fixed yet? Launching the Onlink.app with Terminal I get this:

Image

I guess the CHUD Framework dependancy hasn't been fixed as the changelog says.

Dammit. We'll work on getting a new build up today or within the next couple days. I was sure we eliminated that dependency. As a workaround, install CHUD. >.>

CHUD is just there, IIRC, for a function which sets CPU affinity. That's used for performance, and for CPUID. That being said, the Mach scheduler is actually very clever and does CPU affinity cleverly by itself, and since on a Mac all the CPUs are the same, the CPUID thing isn't really necessary either :) Also, CHUD does evil evil things to the kernel so IMHO it would be a good idea to avoid it.
