I am in a minor need of help. Therefore, I'm opening a position to deal with upcoming Onlink items, with emphasis on the storyline.

There are few requirements as far as specific skills are concerned. You need not know any C++, nor have experience in image editing programs such as Photoshop or GIMP. There are, however, some general life skills required.

Civility - Applicants need to understand that a basic storyline has already been drafted, and that we don't have any intent to redo the storyline in order to fit your requests. In other words, this isn't your storyline. It is our storyline. Because of this, no one, not even myself, has carté blanche to redo the story from the ground up, nor to depose ideas without debate (will be explained in a later section)

Handling of sensitive information - We use a tier system of information disclosure. Every public member within this forum, save for internal beta testers, have a clearance of zero. Internal beta testers have a clearance of one, and this position would grant a clearance level of two.

Access to the third level may be granted if we find your discussion helpful and productive. I cannot disclose what level three access consists of at this time.

Concise English - Please don't take this as a requirement of English as a first language. However, you must be able to clarify anything we require. If, for example, we didn't know what the concept of "stand alone server" was (god help us if this was actually the case), you must be able to explain it.

Ability to Debate - We will disagree with you. All the time. We tend to disagree with each other as well, sometimes fiercely. Because of this, there will be much debate. We expect applicants to hold their own opinion and not agree on a component just because everyone else thinks it's right. Furthermore, applicants must be able to hold a discussion on any disagreement and explain why they feel a certain way. "This idea is stupid" is not acceptable, whereas "Use of that system at that point in the game I feel is too difficult" is.

Miscellaneous - There are a few other things we need, some are optional.

Skype - This much is nearly required, though we may make exceptions given certain situations. Not liking Skype is not an acceptable situation. We will very seldomly, if ever, employ the VoIP function of Skype, but rather the chat functions. Low bandwidth is a non-issue.

NDA - Signing an NDA is also necessary. If you are considered a minor in your country of residence, a signature of a parent or guardian is also required. We will never disclose any personal information without your express consent; not even your name. Unlike most past positions, this requires that a signed NDA be mailed to my address. I will not accept scans or faxes. If you need a personal copy with our signature, we can comply.

Photoshop (OPTIONAL) - Sometimes explaining things is difficult. If you can make do with English, that's fine. However, some people need to draw out a situation to explain them. If you are one of these people, then image creation/manipulation is encouraged.

Interview - There are many other people that help to make Onlink tick that seldomly if ever visit this forum. You will need to persuade these people that you are trustworthy and concise.

If you are interested in this position, email me: recruitment at io dash in dot com. If you have any past works or resumés, it is encouraged that you email that as well, though they are not required. Applications will be accepted until this position (one or two people) are filled.

I am advised by prophile to emphasize that since Onlink is free, this is not a paid position.

I'd apply, but the Internet situation at home right now is just plain crappy (which also explains why I haven't been posting recently). More precisely, no Internets in my room...

I sent in my email, along with a very rough resume. I drew it up pretty quick, so feel free to contact me for more information. :D

I would send a email, if I had time to do it (no, not the email).

As much as I'd like to apply, I live in another continent. Lol.

What difference does that make?

Those two being the first obstacles. Sure, an online interview will work, but a mailed NDA will take _weeks_ to travel between here and the US.

Online interview is fine, NDAs aren't too bad.

I'm thinking travel time. Unless if someone foots the bill for a hispeed courier (like FedEx). And it can't be me at the moment.

Besides - someone in the US would probably be more suited to the job anyway. Unless they find no one else, then I'll consider applying.

This is suspended until I get the last parts I need to build up a source vault. I'm not leaving my source code unsecured on my HDD. This part should be in my hands either today or tomorrow. :)
