CPUs

The CPU forms the heart of your Gateway. The more you have - and the faster you have - the faster all of your programs will execute.

CPU (20 GHz): 250c
CPU (60 GHz): 1000c
CPU (80 GHz): 1300c
CPU (100 GHz): 3000c
CPU (120 GHz): 5000c
CPU (150 GHz): 8000c
CPU (Turbo 200 GHz): 12000c
CPU (Nano 240 GHz): 50000c
CPU (Async Nano 240 GHz): 60000c
CPU (Nano 320 GHz): 100000c
CPU (Async Nano 320 GHz): 120000c
CPU (Nano 400 GHz): 150000c
CPU (Async Nano 400 GHz): 175000c
CPU (Hyper 500 GHz): 250000c
CPU (Async Hyper 500 GHz): 300000c

Memory

Memory is necessary to store your programs and files.

1x8Gq: 3000c
2x8Gq: 5500c
3x8Gq: 8000c
4x8Gq: 11000c
6x8Gq: 15000c
8x8Gq: 20000c
12x8Gq: 27500c
16x8Gq: 35000c

Modems

Faster modems equal lower latencies, and faster file transfer rates.

Cable Link Modems

These are the "regular" modems that have no special prerequisite to their installation, aside from the gateway itself being capable of utilizing the modem.

1Gq/s: 1000c
2Gq/s: 2000c
4Gq/s: 4000c
6Gq/s: 6000c
8Gq/s: 8000c
10Gq/s: 10000c

Satellite Modems

These require that you have the Satellite Receiver SATA II hardware upgrade beforehand. Note that your gateway must be capable of half of the listed speed for it to be installed. (E.g., to install a 12Gq/s Satellite Modem, your gateway must be able to handle at least 6Gqss.)

You can learn more about satellite modems by reading the Satellite Modems article, under Hardware, on the Uplink Laboratories Research Centre system in-game.

12Gq/s: 12000c
16Gq/s: 16000c
20Gq/s: 20000c

q-Bit Modems

These require that you have the q-Bit Receiver hardware upgrade beforehand. Note that your gateway must be capable of one-quarter of the listed speed for it be be installed. (E.g., to install a 16Gq/s q-Bit Modem, your gateway must be able to handle at least 4Gq/s.)

You can learn more about q-Bit modems by reading the q-Bit Modems article, under Hardware, on the Uplink Laboratories Research Centre system in-game.

16Gq/s: 16000c
24Gq/s: 24000c
32Gq/s: 32000c
40Gq/s: 50000c

RAM

RAM (Random Access Memory) is necessary in order for your programs to function. The more RAM you have, the more efficiently multiple programs will run.

Note that you can mount any size chip into a single RAM slot.

1Gq: 300c
2Gq: 600c
4Gq: 1200c
6Gq: 1600c
8Gq: 3400c
16Gq: 4800c
24Gq: 7200c
32Gq: 9600c
64Gq: 19000c
96Gq: 25000c
128Gq: 35000c

Cooling Systems

Cooling systems boost your CPU power by a percentage by allowing you to overclock without overheating.

5%: 50,000 RPM CPU Fan, 3000c
15%: Water Cooling System, 12000c
30%: Processor Immersion System, 30000c
60%: Liquid Nitrogen Cooling System, 111000c, requires Liquid Nitrogen Manager
95%: "Frozen Hell' Cooling System, 250000c, requires Ice Kami
Liquid Nitrogen Manager (required for Liquid Nitrogen Cooling System): 50000c
Ice Kami (required for "Frozen Hell" Cooling System): 190000c

Security Systems

These keep your Gateway (and you) safe.

Motion Sensor

The motion sensor provides information as to when a person is near your physical gateway. When running the motion sensor driver, it will display a yellow indicator if one person is nearby, and a red indicator if multiple people are nearby. Having multiple people near your gateway when you are not expecting them (eg, for hardware upgrades) is generally bad for your career as an agent.

Price: 10000c

Gateway Self-Destruct

The gateway nuke is an explosive fitted to your gateway. Most commonly combined with a motion sensor, it provides an agent with a last-ditch chance to destroy the evidence of crimes they've never committed. Use only when you are under immediate threat of discovery, as it completely destroys your Gateway.

Price: 20000c

Wireless Router

The wireless router redirects all incoming traces away from your Gateway, terminating their trace at a false location. Considered more useful than the Self Destruct, as it leaves the Gateway intact.
